Ramón began his legal career at a large boutique firm in Cincinnati, where he developed a passion for IP. Later, he transitioned to an in-house IP role with a Scandinavian multinational company with a diverse portfolio of consumer, medical, and business-to-business hygiene products and solutions. Ramón was responsible for all IP in North, Central, and South America. In this role, he co-led an in-house team that secured a landmark victory in patent law before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Ramón focuses exclusively on intellectual property law, guiding U.S.-based and foreign companies, individual inventors, and entrepreneurs through every stage of patent, trademark, and copyright protection. For direct clients, he drafts and prosecutes patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, secures federal and state trademark registrations, and counsels on copyright strategy—from initial filings to enforcement and portfolio management. His hands-on approach ensures that startups and established businesses alike translate innovative ideas into enforceable assets that drive commercial success. Ramón's practice also includes freedom-to-operate opinions, due diligence, and defending clients against accusations of IP infringement.
Internationally, Ramón serves as U.S. counsel for foreign law firms and their clients, coordinating the U.S. phases of global IP strategies. Leveraging longstanding relationships with patent and trademark practitioners worldwide, he streamlines Paris Convention filings, Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) national-stage entries, Madrid Protocol trademark filings, and U.S. copyright matters, delivering seamless protection for overseas innovators seeking to enter or expand in the American market or simply trying to obtain IP protection for their innovations in the United States.
